This
footage was taken in the marshes of Dixie Plantation, outside
Charleston, SC. Over the course of a few years, I made regular
visits to the site, collecting footage under different lighting
conditions and varying water levels. I am fascinated with the
way video translates intense and varying light and how slight
manipulations of light and speed introduce patterns that are
familiar from other experiences of nature. Dixie is a continuous
projection of these clips, which slowly morph
into one another.
